Customer Rating: Summary: The Creeks...It Always Follows The Creeks... Comment: This film is jumbled mix of Mutual of Omaha Presents and an old Disney "we're-going-to-kill-the-dog-at-the-end" type film. Narrated in a melodramatic, homey tone reminiscent of the old Tex Avery cartoons. I forgot how much fun it was to watch people run in the 70s...no one could ever run without falling down. A whole lot a nature filming and no scientific "creature" basis for this pseudo-documentary. I would strongly warn against buying it. Poor quality filming, bad editing, redundant scenery, and bad acting...probably only bearable for one screening. That being the case, you can find this entire film for free on the internet. The film does, however, contain my new all time favorite line from any movie. When speaking about an old hermit in the "bottoms" the narrator describes him as, "He walks with a limp. He once shot off half his foot in a boating accident"...shot off half his foot in a BOATING accident...PRICELESS. One of the characters in the film goes on to describe the area she just moved into, "What type of place is this? Panthers living under a house?"...meanwhile in the same scene, the sheriff just gives these folks one of his shotguns and basically tells them, "Good luck"...yeah, what type of town is this? Anyway, for the HARDCORE cryptid fan, Boggy Creek is worth watching once. Other than that, it is just an old novelty film, nothing more.
Customer Rating: Summary: Terribly formatted Comment: DVD quality is bad, really bad!!! I thought it was due to a scratch at first, not the case, it's the manufaturing of it.
Movie however is fun to watch and a good documentary, just buy VHS!!
Customer Rating: Summary: I SAW THIS AS A KID - NEVER FORGOT IT! Comment: While this isn't the best quality DVD or even the best movie, I still enjoyed it while watching last night. I remember seeing this at a movie theatre when I was a kid and it is one movie I never forgot. Although this felt like a scripted/documentary type made movie, it still made me believe there are creatures out there, such as Bigfoot (or the Fouke Monster in this movie). I'm glad I purchased this DVD because now I can relax as I never thought I would see this, for me, -"unforgettable"- movie again. Make sure you watch it in the dark to get the full effect. Oh, one more thing I did chuckle at the songs in the movie. If you see the movie, you'll know what I mean. Enjoy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Influential Cult Classic Semidocumentary Comment: This quasidocumentary, originally released in 1973 and produced and directed by Charles B. Pierce, focuses on a Sasquatchlike creature in the Fouke, Arkansas area, a three-toed, 7-Foot tall, red-haired creature terrorizing the residents of the Fouke area, killing dogs, chickens, cows and other animals. The creature is apparently solitary, being the only one of its kind in the area. The creature is seen crossing roads and terrorizing residents in their homes, and of course is played by a guy in a suit. The creature seems to be faceless as well. Many of the real-life inhabitants of the town and area play themselves in the film, which is cheesy and somewhat dated, but still fun in its own way. Great film to watch on a dark night.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not well done Comment: I'm not sure how this was recorded but picture quality is pretty bad. My husband loved this as a kid and wanted this as a gift. It was not a very nice gift.
